George Erbacher, DO, FAOCR, graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Rocky Mountain Hospital in Denver, CO then practiced Family Medicine in rural northwest Kansas for 6 years then a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Tulsa Regional Hospital – now OSU Medical Center, in Tulsa, OK. He subsequently completed an Angiography and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. For over 20 years, he served as the Program Director for either the Radiology Residency Program or the Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program. In 2019, Dr. Erbacher received the American Osteopathic College of Radiology Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the ACGME review committee for radiology.

Benjamin N. Abo, DO, PMD, FAW, is an emergency medicine physician in Naples, Florida. He received his medical degree from Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. Phyllis Arthur is Vice President for Infectious Diseases and Diagnostics Policy at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO).  In this role Ms. Arthur is responsible for working with member companies in vaccines, antimicrobial resistance, molecular diagnostics and biodefense on policy, legislative and regulatory issues.   

Ms. Arthur joined BIO in July 2009 as the Director of Healthcare Regulatory Affairs.  Prior to joining BIO, she worked in numerous marketing and sales positions for Merck & Co. Inc. in their Vaccine Division.  Over her 16-year career in vaccines, Ms. Arthur launched several exciting new vaccines in the United States and internationally, including the first HPV vaccine, GARDASIL.  During her years in Marketing, she worked closely with clinical and academic thought leaders in infectious diseases, oncology and public health.   In addition, Ms. Arthur also led a large vaccine sales organization of over 75 representatives and managers covering 14 states.

Before graduate school, Ms. Arthur worked as a research assistant for two economists at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC.  There she conducted economic analyses related to savings and investment policies for the OECD countries.

Dr. Kelly S. Andrzejczyk-Beatty is a board certified psychiatrist currently working at Choctaw Nation Health Services at the McAlester, Oklahoma clinic.  Dr. Andrzejczyk-Beatty earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania.  She completed her residency in psychiatry at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  While there, she served as chief resident during her third year of residency.  Dr. Andrzejczyk-Beatty is involved in medical education for residents and medical students at Choctaw Nation.  She gave presentations at the Choctaw Nation Suicide Awareness Conference, the Pittsburg County Medical Society, the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association Convention and the Indian Health Services Behavioral Health Conference. Sara M. Coffey, DO is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSUCHS). Dr. Coffey completed her adult psychiatry residency at the University of Chicago and her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Cambridge Health Alliance. During her adult psychiatry training, Dr. Coffey served as the chair of the Public Health Committee for the American Medical Association’s Resident’s Committee. Joseph A. Giaimo DO, FCCP, FACOI is an AOA board-certified osteopathic pulmonary physician; a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, and Osteopathic Internist. Board Certified in Internal, Pulmonary, and Sleep Medicine, he is currently President-Elect of the American Osteopathic Association. Scott Gelfand, PhD, JD, is a tenured professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at Oklahoma State University. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. His research is focused primarily on issues in biomedical ethics and research ethics. Most recently he has written several papers discussing two ethical problems associated with the physician-patient relationship: The Problem of Nudging and Informed Consent and The Problem of the Nocebo Effect.

Donald J.  Kyle, PhD received a BS degree in chemistry from Colorado State University in 1982, then earned a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry from Texas Tech University in 1986.  He has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 34 years.  His first industrial position was at Nova Pharmaceutical Corporation where he designed and synthesized experimental molecules for treating various CNS diseases including pain and participated in the development of high throughput screening and combinatorial chemistry for drug discovery.  He pioneered structure-based design approaches to novel bradykinin receptor antagonists for pain and asthma, and developed computational tools aimed at the elucidation of protein structure for drug design. 

After holding various scientific leadership positions at several companies, Dr. Kyle joined Purdue Pharma in 1998 to create a new pain research department and pipeline of potential new pain products that did not produce the same unwanted effects as opioids, NSAIDS, or COX-2 inhibitors.  Between 2005 and 2012 his team delivered 5 FDA-approved INDs (Investigational New Drug Applications), several of which proceeded into multiple phase 2 trials.  During his professional tenure, he has investigated many pain-related cellular mechanisms and has conducted extensive research in the opioid field. For the latter, he worked more than 15 years searching for mechanistic pathways to separate analgesia from euphoria and respiratory depression.  In 2016 he was an invited scientific member of joint academia, industry, NIH, brainstorming meetings and working groups tasked to outline science-led solutions to the opioid crisis (ultimately becoming the HEAL initiative).

His scientific accomplishments are reflected in nearly 200 scientific publications, review papers, books and chapters, as well as 95 issued US patents across a wide range of technologies, molecules, therapeutic areas, and commercial products.  He is a reviewer and editorial advisory board member for several peer-reviewed journals and has held several adjunct faculty appointments.  He is currently an executive director at the National Center for Wellness and Recovery at Oklahoma State University.

T. Marc Calvert, JD. While at HBU, Mr. Calvert was President of the Pre-Law Society and voted intramural athlete of the year. While at UT, he served as a clerk for the Texas Employment Commission and wrote opinions for the commission appeals department.
