Yoga for Every Body - Utilization of Modifications in Yoga Pratice

Accessibility is all about modifications. Dr. Mifflin will show you how to use every day household items for yoga props.

Educational Objectives:

  • Evaluate and perform simple yoga poses for some common patient complaints

  • Demonstrate modification to yoga poses with everyday objects as props

  • Share a simple yoga sequence that can be performed daily by their patients

 

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association (AOMA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

Michelle Mifflin, D.O., Midwestern University AZCOM
Dr. Michelle D. Mifflin, DO is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Family Medicine at Midwestern University. Concurrently, she serves as the Director and Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine Faculty Advisor for Health Outreach through Medicine and Education (H.O.M.E.), assisting students in providing free medical care to homeless shelters in the Phoenix area. Dr. Mifflin earned her D.O. degree from Oklahoma State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma and she completed her family medicine residency through the Midwestern University Graduate Medical Education Consortium at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital in Tempe, Arizona. She is board certified in family medicine and is an avid yogi.
