Diagnosing Dementia and Using the Medicare Dementia Care Planning Code Medicare now provides reimbursement for services aimed at improving detection, diagnosis, and care planning and coordination for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia, and their caregivers. In this presentation, participants will discuss the common types of dementia, tests and tools used for diagnosis; and we will define the CPT Code 99483 and what elements and documentation are needed to bill that code.
