An osteopathic Approach to Recovery


Session Objectives:

Dr. White will present a review of neurobiological processes associated with addiction behaviors, a treatment perspective informed by the osteopathic philosophy and case studies.

Following this lecture, participants will be better able to understand the underlying neurobiological processes associated with addiction behaviors.

Participants will be able to understand how an osteopathic approach to treatment of addiction can serve their patients.

 

The Maine Osteopathic Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.The Maine Osteopathic Association designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity. This session also qualifies for 1.0 Opioid Prescribing CME credit pursuant to licensing requirements for the Board of Licensure in Medicine in Maine and the Maine Osteopathic Board of Licensure.

This education counts towards Maine state-specific Opioid Prescribing CME licensing requirements and the new 8 hour DEA CME requirement when renewing or obtaining your DEA license. The total hours in this education is one (1) Opioid Prescribing Credit.
