Noncompliance: Issues and Concerns


After completing this session, the learner is expected to be able to identify the non-compliant patient and the multitude of issues raised. They will learn how to avoid and manage such concerns and maintain a professional relationship and avoid as many pitfalls as possible. This will serve to increase awareness and facilitate management. 

Learning objectives:

  1. Identify non-compliant patients.
  2. Understand the risks to patient and proivder due to non-compliance.
  3. Learn some techniques to manage such situations.
  4. Avoidance is best, but must learn to manage what needs to be managed.

The New York State Osteopathic Medical Society (NYSOMS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic medical education to physicians. NYSOMS designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 2-A CME credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.
