Learning Objectives:

At the end of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the presenting features and diagnostic considerations for diagnosis of ADHD in adult patients including medical differential diagnosis
  • Explore pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment options, with special consideration of patient comorbidities and social factors
  • Appreciate challenges in treatment of complex populations, including assessment of comorbid substance use disorders

A lifelong resident of the Carolinas, Dr. Veronica Ridpath is a board certified psychiatrist who serves as Department Chair of Psychiatry and Substance Use Disorders at HopeHealth in Florence, SC.  She graduated from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, SC and completed residency in Psychiatry at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. She has special interest in LGBT mental health and inclusion, improving access to psychiatry services, and integrated substance use treatment.
