Many new mothers face challenges with lactation and breastfeeding. Dr. Kendra Gray and Dr. Cadey Harrel provide knowledge to promote and support breastfeeding for mothers and infants.


Learning Objectives:

  • Manage and treat nipple pain and ineffective latch
  • Appraise and help relieve obstacles to breastfeeding initiation and continuation
  • Propose guidance, resources, and support to the maternal child dyad



Kendra Gray Related seminars and products:

Kendra Gray, DO is a PGY-3 OB/GYN Resident at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix. A graduate of Midwestern University AZCOM, she was recently appointed an adjunct faculty member at the school. She has completed award-winning research related to the early detection of breast cancers and benefits of hormone replacement therapy. Dr. Gray received her bachelors in education with an emphasis on early childhood education at Cleveland State University. Serving as the Resident Trustee on the AOMA Board of Trustees, much of her free time is spent involved with political advocacy and volunteerism to help strengthen her community. She enjoys hiking local trails and spending time with her family. Dr. Gray has lived in Phoenix for the past ten years with her husband, daughter and son. She is proud to call Arizona her home.

Mary Catherine Harrel Related seminars and products:


Mary Catherine Harrel, MD is board certified in family medicine. A graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine (UofACOM), Dr. Harrel completed her residency at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri and an internship at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix in Obstetrics.  She is a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine's International Protocol committee, and has a career focus of maternal-child health and breastfeeding medicine. She is currently an assistant professor with Banner University of Arizona in Tucson, serving as core faculty with the University of Arizona Family Medicine Residency at South Campus.
