Description

This program will expire and must be completed by 05/18/24.

This lecture will serve as a brief refresher on common screening guidelines for breast, lung, colon, and cervical cancers.  Physician attendees will learn how to adhere to recommendations and provide patients with current, up-to-date information on routine preventative care measures.

Objectives:

  • Define Common Cancers and update the current list
  • Discuss and understand screening recommendations for:
    • Breast Cancer
    • Lung Cancer
    • Prostate Cancer
    • Colon Cancer
  • Develop strategies for the application of cancer screening to our practices

Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.  MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A CME credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation.

Grievance Policy:
All grievances should be in writing and should specify the nature of the grievance.  Initially, all grievances should be directed to MAOPS Executive Director, who will then forward said grievance to the Education & Convention Committee.  All grievances will receive an initial response in writing within 30 days of receipt.  If the participant does not receive a satisfactory response, then they can then submit a complaint in writing to the Council on Continuing Medical Education of the AOA at 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611.

Dr. Jeff Davis practices in Memphis, Missouri and is the Chief Medical Officer and Staff Family Medicine Physician for Scotland County Hospital. He keeps busy as Coroner for Scotland County, Staff Physician for Scotland County Care Center and Residential Care Facility, and Memphis Medical Services, a federally qualified hospital-based rural health clinic.

Dr. Davis has been providing well-woman, obstetrics, and adolescent care throughout his career and continues to deliver babies. Dr. Davis serves the profession passionately. He is a past president of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and has served on every committee in the organization. He currently serves as the Education Co-Chair. He is a trustee and a delegate to the AOA.

Dr. Davis is a graduate of AT Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his residency at Southern Illinois University Quincy Family Practice in Quincy, Illinois. Dr. Davis is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine.
