Description

The cervical cancer screening update presentation is geared toward giving primary care providers an update to current USPSTF cervical cancer screening guidelines. It also addresses some technology updates that allow for consistent approaches to PAP results by using ASCCP guidelines. Finally, it reviews the current WHO goal of eradication of cervical cancer and CDC primary care prevention of HPV

Kristina Bowen is a third-year family practice resident at Central Washington Family Medicine Residency as part of the rural track in Ellensburg Washington. She is from Wasilla Alaska and attended undergraduate school at the University of Alaska in Anchorage where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with University Honors. From there, she worked with a local Native corporation doing technical writing, quality assurance, and software testing. During which time she obtained her Master of Business Administration with an emphasis on information systems. After which, she taught mathematics as an Associate Professor in her local community college. She and her family moved down from Alaska to Yakima Washington to attend Medical School at Pacific Northwest University of Health Science. She spends her free time enjoying her family, the activities that nature has to offer, reading, church, and music. She is looking forward to a full spectrum family practice in a Pacific Northwest rural location when she graduates and is thankful for opportunities she has been given.
