Title: Direct Primary Care

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1) Understand how Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an alternative to Fee-For-Service (FFS)
2) Differentiate between DPC, concierge and hybrid practices.
3) Understand how providing care in the DPC model can breed creativity and innovation.
4) Understand how Federal and Indiana State laws impact practicing in a DPC model.
5) Understand the steps to start a DPC practice and how to locate available resources.
The Indiana Osteopathic Association (IOA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. The IOA designates this program for a maximum of 0.75 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.
It is the policy of the IOA that any physician dissatisfied with the CME program will be issued a refund upon request, and no CME credits will be reported to the AOA. Complaints on Evaluation Forms also are taken into consideration when planning future CME programs and may lead to changes in the format or content.

Dr. Maxwell Pflieger is a 2007 graduate of Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (MWUCCOM) in Chicago, IL. She completed her family medicine residency at Denver Health in Denver, CO, in 2010 and afterward began working at Denver Health providing primary care to medically underserved patients, as well as supervising several school-based health centers. Since moving back to Indiana in 2016, Dr. Maxwell Pflieger has completed fellowship training to become a certified American Board of Obesity Medicine Diplomate. She enjoys finding long-term weight loss solutions for her patients.
Dr. Pflieger is a 2006 graduate of Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine MWUCCOM) in Chicago, IL. He completed his family medicine residency Denver Health, in Denver, CO. Upon residency graduation, Dr. Pflieger provided full-spectrum care at a local federally qualified health center, while also serving as medical director at his clinic site. Since moving back to Indiana in 2016, Dr. Pflieger has developed a successful vasectomy procedure-based practice, in addition to providing routine outpatient primary care
