Description

In this lecture,  Dr. Christopher Link offers information and tools regarding optimal nutrition.

Goals & Objectives:

  • Describe the most effective diets for weight loss.
  • Specify the keys to adherence and success. 
  • Identify which diet is best for specific medical conditions such as prevention of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, lipid-lowering, and cancer survivorship.

Grievance Policy:
All grievances should be in writing and should specify the nature of the grievance.  Initially, all grievances should be directed to MAOPS Executive Director, who will then forward said grievance to the Education & Convention Committee.  All grievances will receive an initial response in writing within 30 days of receipt.  If the participant does not receive a satisfactory response, then they can then submit a complaint in writing to the Bureau of Osteopathic Education of the AOA at 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611.

Dr. Link is a graduate of St Louis University School of Medicine. He completed emergency medicine residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin and practiced emergency and trauma medicine for 18 years. In 2009 Dr. Link completed a 2-year integrative medicine fellowship at the University of Arizona, directed by Dr. Andrew Weil.  Additionally, he has completed advanced training in acupuncture, anti-aging medicine, functional medicine, nutrition, and western and Chinese herbal medicine. He opened Integrative Medicine – Natural Healing Alternatives and Medical Acupuncture, in Jefferson City, Mo, in 2009.

 

Dr. Link is a respected educator in the field of integrative medicine and functional medicine. He lectures frequently on natural approaches to optimizing health through lifestyle and nutrition. He is a clinical instructor of integrative medicine in the Capital Region Medical Center Family Medicine Program. He is a frequent guest on local radio shows focusing on health and healing from a natural prospective.
