Description

Immunotherapy is a relatively new treatment for cancer patients. As more patients are treated, more auto-immune side effects are being noted. Many of these side effects are being managed by primary care physicians requiring the most up-to-date education regarding treatment. This lecture will outline the different types of immunotherapy, their uses and side-effects.

At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:

  • Identify the various forms of immunotherapy
  • Describe when immunotherapy is indicated for malignancies
  • Discuss the most common side-effects of immunotherapy
