By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1)  Understand the simplicity of ultrasound in evaluating the lungs.

2)  Understand the simplicity of ultrasound in evaluating the cardiovascular system.

3)  Approach critically-ill patients and effectively utilize ultrasound in evaluating, diagnosing, and optimizing their treatment.

 

The Indiana Osteopathic Association (IOA) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.  The IOA designates this program for a maximum of 1.00 AOA Category 2-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

It is the policy of the IOA that any physician dissatisfied with the CME program will be issued a refund upon request, and no CME credits will be reported to the AOA.  Complaints on Evaluation Forms also are taken into consideration when planning future CME programs and may lead to changes in the format or content.

Dr. Hartman started his emergency medicine career over 30 years ago.  He has worked as an EMT, paramedic, flight physician, and now an emergency medicine physician.  His interests include pre-hospital medicine, critical care, trauma and resuscitation.  He is the medical director for International Trauma Life Support in Indiana, past president of the American College of Emergency Physicians Indiana Chapter, and serves the Governor of Indiana on the State Trauma Advisory Board.  Dr. Hartman holds the rank of assistant professor of emergency medicine for the Indiana University School of Medicine and works in the emergency department at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
