Challenging Treatment Options: Medical Marijuana, CBD, and MAT

Learning Objectives:

  1. Formulate a practice plan to provide or not provide medical marijuana waivers.
  2. Articulate to patients the current evidence related to CBD oil treatments.
  3. Employ a MAT treatment program in their own practice.
  4. Physicians will choose whether or not they will participate in cannabis, CBD or MAT tx.

Lyndall completed his 4th and final term as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives in early January 2019. He was first elected in 2010 and served as Chairman of the Financial Institutions, Local Government and Utility Infrastructure committees. Prior to his election to the House, he was elected Northern Commissioner of Webster County after completing a 17-year career in Wal-Mart management. The last seven of those years as store manager of his hometown store in Marshfield. Lyndall is a home builder and real estate developer in the Marshfield area. He discloses that he has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of his presentation.

Dr. Henningsen is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and is currently in her second year of pharmacy residency with SSM Health St. Mary’s in St. Louis, MO. She is a member of the American Pharmacist Association, Gateway College of Clinical Pharmacy, Missouri Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy and Co-Chief Resident at St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She has a passion for educating fellow pharmacist and physicians on medical marijuana as a treatment. Michael Brown, DO's Profile

Michael Brown, DO Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Michael Brown is a graduate of AT Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed a medical residency in Family and Community Medicine at Truman Medical Centers in Kansas City, Missouri. He currently works full-time for Meritas Health in Smithville, Missouri, where he practices Family Medicine. He is the former Assistant Chief Medical Informatics Officer and Medical Director of Telemedicine for Mosaic Life Care. He is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and Clinical Informatics by the American Board of Preventative Medicine.

Dr. Brown was the first physician to begin providing direct-to-consumer telemedicine in Missouri. He built a team of providers who continue to give care remotely to patients throughout rural northwest Missouri. His interests include innovative ways to deliver health care to his patients and increasing physician satisfaction with electronic health records.

Dr. Brown lives in Smithville, Missouri, with his wife and seven children and continues his family tradition of beekeeping. He also enjoys photography and running, two beneficial skills for any beekeeper. Dr. Brown will be ending his term as President of MAOPS in the next month. His leadership during this challenging year in dealing with the pandemic has been instrumental as MAOPS switched its CME focus to virtual learning.
