Description

In this lecture,  Dr. Brent Dixon will describe and administer the osteopathic manipulative treatment approach to the management of shoulder enthesopathies.

Learning Objectives:

Define the various shoulder enthesopathies including rotator cuff tendinopathy, bicipital tendinopathy, shoulder bursitis, shoulder impingement, glenoid labral tears, and adhesive capsulitis.

Explain the pathophysiology including the etiology epidemiology, and the risk factors of the various shoulder enthesopathies.

Discuss the clinical manifestations and the physical examination findings of the various shoulder enthesopathies.

Describe and administer the osteopathic manipulative treatment approach to the management of shoulder enthesopathies and discuss the treatment goals of the various types of techniques.

Identify measures to prevent occurrence and recurrence of shoulder enthesopathies.

 

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of .75 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.
