Description

The age-old battle of misinformation and vaccine hesitancy and specific vaccines.

Learning Objectives:
·    Provide patients with the most up-to-date vaccines.
·    Convey the importance of vaccinations.
·    Relate to parents and apply alternative schedules where requested.
·    Identify technological resources to help with vaccine scheduling. 

Accreditation Statements:
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 1.25 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation.

Dr. Jeff Davis practices in Memphis, Missouri and is the Chief Medical Officer and Staff Family Medicine Physician for Scotland County Hospital. He keeps busy as Coroner for Scotland County, Staff Physician for Scotland County Care Center and Residential Care Facility, and Memphis Medical Services, a federally qualified hospital-based rural health clinic.

Dr. Davis has been providing well-woman, obstetrics, and adolescent care throughout his career and continues to deliver babies. Dr. Davis serves the profession passionately. He is a past president of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and has served on every committee in the organization. He currently serves as the Education Co-Chair. He is a trustee and a delegate to the AOA.

Dr. Davis is a graduate of AT Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his residency at Southern Illinois University Quincy Family Practice in Quincy, Illinois. Dr. Davis is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine.

Sharon Humiston MD, MPH, FAAP's Profile

Sharon Humiston MD, MPH, FAAP Related Seminars and Products


Sharon Humiston, MD, MPH, FAAP is in practice at Children’s Mercy Hospital in the Emergency Medical Services Group in Kansas City, Missouri.  She is also Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine and is Associate Director for Research for the Immunization Action Coalition.  Dr. Humiston earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and then completed a master’s in public health at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in Rochester, New York. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatrics.

Dr. Humiston discloses that she has a financial interest/arrangement or affiliation with Pfizer Foundation related to grant and research support and a relationship with the Academic Pediatric Association through a CDC grant.
