Short Description:
Hypertension is one of the most common chronic medical conditions, with implications in cardiovascular health (risk of myocardial infarction, stroke or kidney disease), as well as overall wellness. The goal of this presentation is to review the various guidelines of Hypertension management, focusing on the updated American Academy of Family Physicians 2022 guideline, while referencing others commonly referenced. The Osteopathic concept of Mind, Body, and Spirit will be reviewed and applied to empower the audience to make evidence-based, joint-decision making with an individual, Patient-Oriented approach to Hypertension management. Short Description:
Rheumatology is a complicated field of medicine with over 100 disorders of the musculoskeletal system, many of which have an autoimmune, inflammatory, or systemic basis. It can be a daunting field for the non-Rheumatologist. This is due to our diseases involving nearly all fields of medicine, the limitations of imaging or laboratory studies alone in making definitive diagnoses, and the dynamic nature of newer therapeutics. The goal of this presentation is to help provide clarity and to update some of these various topics.
