Short Description:
Over 60% of health care providers experience one or more symptoms of burnout. The perceived clinician burden resulting in burnout arises from factors such as poor electronic health record (EHR) usability and documentation burden leading to less clinical time with patients. Burnout can have detrimental effects on health care quality and contributes to increased medical errors, decreased patient satisfaction, substance use, workforce attrition, and suicide. By removing redundant data entry and low value tasks from the electronic health record, we can reduce the administrative burden from the EHR, decrease cognitive load and allow physicians to document more efficiently.

Short Description:
Hypertension is one of the most common chronic medical conditions, with implications in cardiovascular health (risk of myocardial infarction, stroke or kidney disease), as well as overall wellness. The goal of this presentation is to review the various guidelines of Hypertension management, focusing on the updated American Academy of Family Physicians 2022 guideline, while referencing others commonly referenced. The Osteopathic concept of Mind, Body, and Spirit will be reviewed and applied to empower the audience to make evidence-based, joint-decision making with an individual, Patient-Oriented approach to Hypertension management. Social Determinants of Healthcare (SDOH) will be discussed briefly, in effort to redirect away from race-based algorithms for Hypertension management.
