Brandon Maughan, MD


Dr. Brandon Maughan is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He then completed his residency at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Maughan completed additional research training in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a Master's degree in Health Policy Research and studied interventions to reduce opioid analgesic prescriptions for low-acuity conditions. Dr. Maughan joined the Oregon Health & Science University faculty in 2018 as a K12 Scholar in the Center for Policy and Research in Emergency Medicine, where his research examines sex differences in diagnosing and treating acute pulmonary embolism. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
