Dr. Carmen Piccolo, D.O.


Dr. Piccolo is a Vascular Surgeon at McLeod Vascular Associates and McLeod Vascular Associates Vein Center in Florence, SC. He serves as the Medical Director of the Vascular Rehabilitation Program at McLeod Health Care and is an Expert Reviewer for Vascular Surgery for the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. Board Certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery, Dr. Piccolo is also a Clinical Faculty Member at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas where he supervises, educates and evaluates medical students on a vascular surgery rotation. Dr. Piccolo has served in numerous leadership positions at McLeod Regional Medical Center including Bylaws Committee, Medical Staff Secretary, CEO Blue Ribbon Panel, Physician Leadership Roundtable, Perioperative Surgical Home Physician Advisory Group, Credentialing Committee, and Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Venous Thromboembolism Treatment Committees. His current and ongoing research includes Prospective Analysis and Implementation of a Vascular Rehabilitation Program at a Non-University Hospital System and Endovascular Revascularization Prior to Debridement Decreases Limb Loss and Lowers Health Care Costs In Patients with Critical Limb Ischemia. Dr. Piccolo received his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a General Surgery Residency and a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
