Christine Geiger, MA,RHIA, CCS, CRC


Chris’ career in health information management started in 1986. She has worked at large and mid-sized health care facilities in many roles where she gained a thorough understanding of health information management.  Her coding career, which began in 1986, includes working in hospitals as both an employee and a consultant. 

 

Chris has worked for First Class Solutions for since 2007.  She has served large and small clients. A teacher at heart, she coaches other coders on proper coding rules and how to find the information they need. Chris also serves as the coding instructor for Saint Louis University’s Health Information Management program.

Ms. Geiger has the certification in risk adjustment coding and understands the intricacies of hierarchical condition categories (HCCs). Chris has been intimately involved in assessing documentation and coding in Skilled Nursing Facilities for regulatory reviews and Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) coding.  Additionally, she is an AHIMA approved ICD-10 trainer and often responds to questions from clients’ staff regarding the proper application of certain codes. She discloses that she has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of her presentation.
