Dana Parker, OMS

WesternU/COMP-NW

Dana is a second-year medical student at COMP-NW. She obtained her B.A. from Portland State University in Spanish, which she plans on using extensively in her future practice. She grew up in the Pacific Northwest and has enjoyed outdoor activities such as running marathons, rowing for Oregon State and enjoying Oregon’s beaches. Her passion for research began a few years ago when she was a Research Assistant at the Knight Cancer Institute at OHSU. She believes research is one of the most important aspects in improving the standard of care for patients and increasing quality of life. Since joining COMP-NW, she has joined the research track and has worked with PI Dr. Steinauer and Dr. Spaan on research about schistosomiasis, inflammation, and the impacts of infection on various aspects of health. She is very thankful for her research mentors at COMP-NW who have been integral to her success and continued interest in research.
