H. Sprague Taveau, IV, DO
Dr. Taveau is a native of Philadelphia, PA; he's married and has four grown children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He currently lives in Killeen, TX where he continues to practice Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine as the Medical Director of the Metroplex Adventist Hospital Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Taveau obtained his Osteopathic Medical Degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1977 after his second tour in Vietnam where he was a member of the famous 7th United States Cavalry. Dr. Taveau is a highly decorated combat veteran who distinguished himself in a multitude of assignments throughout his twenty-five-year Army career. He served as the Division Surgeon for two Divisions and earned the Surgeon General's Physician Recognition Award for his work in rewriting the Army Battlefield Evacuation Plan, the first revision to that plan since Jonathan Letterman first wrote it in. Dr. Taveau retired from the Army in 1987 to practice full time Emergency Medicine, Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. He joined the old Curative in 2002 as a Regional Medical Director and in December of 2005 ascended to the position of Medical Director. From the time of the merger in December of 2006 until March of 2009, Dr. Taveau served as Senior Medical Advisor to Diversified Clinical Services. Currently Dr. Taveau serves as the President of Central Texas Wound Healing Associates. Dr. Taveau is extremely active in local and national osteopathic medical societies serving on the Board of Directors of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, as an officer with the Texas Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and as a delegate to both the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians House of Delegates.
