John W. Becher, DO
John W. Becher, DO, FACOEP dist., FAAEM, FACEP, is a member of the education committee for POMA’s 113th Annual Clinical Assembly and Scientific Seminar. He is professor and chairman of the emergency medicine department at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and director of osteopathic medical education at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Board certified in emergency medicine with a certificate of added qualification in emergency medical services, he is a certified instructor of advanced trauma life support and basic life support. Dr. Becher is a graduate of LaSalle University in Philadelphia, and a 1970 graduate of PCOM. He completed an internship at Flint (Mich.) Osteopathic Hospital. Past president of the American Osteopathic Association and POMA, Dr. Becher is a distinguished fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and a fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is a member of the Philadelphia County Osteopathic Medical Society, the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, the American Heart Association, and the Association of Academic Chairs.
