John Swegle, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP


John M. Swegle, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Practice and Science at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, in Iowa City, Iowa.  He is a Clinical Pharmacy Faculty member of the MercyOne Family Medicine Residency in Mason City, Iowa. He is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and board certified ambulatory care pharmacist.  He is also a clinical pharmacist for the Hospice of North Iowa and a consultant for the Mercy Family Pharmacies in Mason City.

Dr. Swegle received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy at Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.  He completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and a specialty residency in family medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Dr. Swegle has many hours of classroom teaching as well as done many lectures around the state to various organizations.  He is a member of several organizations and has served on numerous boards, committees and councils. He is a journal reviewer for seven publications.
