Joe Figueroa, DO


Dr. Figueroa is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), FAOCPM&R, FAAPM&R and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine / Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM). He joined Des Moines University (DMU) in 2002 as a clinician in PM&R and an Assistant Professor in the OMM Department. Dr. Figueroa earned a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in Ames, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree with an OMM Fellowship from DMU. He completed his residency training in PM&R at Ingham Regional Medical Center, East Lancing MI, and a Specialty Faculty Development Fellowship at Michigan State University. He has served as a Major in the US Army as an active-duty physician, PM&R Specialist and Assistant Chief of the Physical Medicine Service at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington. He received an International Certification by the American Fascial Distortion Model Association (AFDMA) in 2016.
