Joseph R. Johnson, DO, FACOOG dist. obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from The University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1994.  He then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Detroit Saint John’s Health Systems, Detroit Riverview/Macomb Hospital System in association with Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998.  He received his Fellowship recognition with the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2000 and recent recertification in 2017.  He was recently inducted as a Distinguished Fellow in the college through the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2017.  Dr. Johnson is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, Oklahoma Osteopathic Medical Association and American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecologist where he serves leaderships roles in continuing education, telemedicine, government affairs and ethics.  Dr. Johnson is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Project ECHO and medical director of the Blessed Mother Theresa Medical Center.  In 2018, Dr. Johnson was awarded the OOA’s Outstanding and Distinguished Service Award.
