Joseph P Lisanti, DO, DO


Dr. Lisanti commissioned into the Army National Guard Medical Corp as a Major in May of 2016. He has served as a Battalion Surgeon for two different Infantry Battalions, the 2-152 in Columbus, IN and the 293rd in Fort Wayne, IN. Currently, he is serving as the Medical Officer in Charge at the 113th Brigade Support Battalion, Charlie Company (Medical Company) based in Anderson, IN. He completed his Basic Officer Leadership Course at Joint Base Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX, his Joint Readiness Training at the JRTC Center at Fort Polk, LA, and last summer he completed a month-long joint training exercise called Garuda Shield in Indonesia with the Indonesia Army and Indonesian Army Medical Corp. On the civilian side, Dr. Lisanti has served as the Medical Director for the Activate Healthcare Clinic at Monarch Beverage in Indianapolis, IN for the past seven years. Dr. Lisanti has served as the State Medical Director for Activate Healthcare, where he mentored and recruited several Activate Healthcare clinicians.  Prior to practicing at Activate Healthcare, Dr. Lisanti practiced for 13 years in the Dayton, OH area. He also served for five years on a Federal Disaster Medical Assistance Team for the Department of Homeland Security and HHS based out of Dayton, OH called OH-5. While working with this team he participated in the response to Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Francis. Dr. Lisanti grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He earned a B.S. in biology from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA in 1990. He earned his D.O. degree from A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, MO in 1995, where he also served as the student government president. He completed his residency in family practice with the Ohio University consortium of hospitals in Cleveland, OH, in 1998. He has been married to his wife, Jennifer, for the past 24 years and they have two daughters, Vanessa and Stephanie.
