Kevin Cuccaro, DO
Dr. Kevin Cuccaro is an Independent Clinician and Consultant. His focus is on creating solutions for pain and pain-related topics important to healthcare systems, clinicians, and the public. He is a fellow of the Oregon Health Authority Council of Clinical Innovations. He is a Diplomate for the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a trained specialist and expert on the science of pain. He trained in anesthesiology at the University of Chicago in Illinois. He completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Michigan. Later he served as Associate Program Director of the Naval Medical Center San Diego's Pain Medicine Fellowship program in California.
In 2016, Dr. Cuccaro delivered one of the largest pain education programs in the country. This program's purpose was to radically transform healthcare providers' understanding of pain and pain care. His program evolved to include three counties, 21 clinics, and 25 training groups, and he personally trained over 200 clinical staff.
Dr. Cuccaro was selected as an Oregon Health Authority Clinical Innovations Fellow (2016-17 cohort) and has served the state of Oregon in several roles, including as an appointed member of the Oregon Health Authority Health Evidence Review Commission (HERC), the HERC Chronic Pain Task Force, and the Oregon Pain Management Commission (ending as Vice-Chair).
