Laura Griffin DO, FAAO


Dr. Griffin graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996 after completing a one-year pre-doctoral anatomy and osteopathic principles and practices fellowship. She was the first graduate of UNECOM’s integrated family practice and neuromusculoskeletal medicine residency, and she is board certified in both specialties.

Dr. Griffin co-directed the FP/NMM residency at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 2001 to 2008, and she directed the FP/NMM program at Pikeville Medical Center from 2008 to 2015. She chairs the OMM Department at the University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (UP-KYCOM), where she also is an associate professor of osteopathic principles and practices.

Dr. Griffin is the AAO’s 2016-17 president. She previously served on the Academy’s Board of Trustees, and she served on the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.
