Lesley Schmitz

Dr. Lesley Schmitz is a graduate of Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and is boarded in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.  She has managed a successful private practice in her area of specialty and has served in both academic and clinical positions at TCOM and the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In addition to continuing to look for biomechanical patterns and their implications in posture and gait, Dr. Schmitz is working on functional medicine certification and Re-Code certification; prevention and recovery for brain health with a focus on Alzheimer's disease. A perpetual student, she says that she likes to teach because it gives her an opportunity to learn more!

As the structure and importance of the diaphragm is evaluated in this presentation, Dr. Schmitz’ goal is to provide links to these somewhat diverse interests and to highlight the importance of osteopathic tenets in light of COVID-19 effects on the body.

Dr. Schmitz discloses that she has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of this presentation.
