Lonnie C Lauer, DO


Dr. Lauer has had an interest in forensic science for over 50 years. He jumped at the opportunity to be a Medical Examiner when the offer arose in 1974. Over the years his expertise grew from mentoring and post-graduate courses in forensic medicine. He has completed nearly 2000 exams by all manners of death.

Dr. Lauer was a graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1971, interned at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine in Portland, before entering into family medicine and emergency medicine in Bridgton, ME for a six-year period. The next ten years was spent in emergency medicine followed by twenty-one years in occupational medicine until his retirement. Concurrent with the afore mentioned, he served as jail physician for Oxford County for 24 years, worked in the Bridgton Weekend & Holiday Walk-in Clinic for 11 years, served as Bridgton’s Health Office for 23 years, and was a board member of the Maine Board of Osteopathic Licensure for 11 years. He and his wife of 53 years have 3 children and 10 grand-children. Hobbies: recreational shooting; hunting; tuba player-ME Pops Concert Band and others.
