Paul Evans
Dr. Evans is a nationally recognized physician leader in medical education having served as the founding dean for Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as the Dean for the Georgia Campus of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also served as the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs, Director of Educational Resources and Development and Director of Faculty Development at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He did his medical school training at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Internship at Letterman Army Medical Center and his residency in Family Practice at Womack Army Community Hospital, Fort Bragg, NC. He did a post-doctoral fellowship in Faculty Development in Family Medicine at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a post-doctoral fellowship Teaching Scholars Program, University of Washington.
Although he formally retired in the spring of 2016, Dr. Evans’ list of accomplishments is extensive. He is a retired Colonel in the US Army Medical Corps and held numerous leadership positions during his military career including at Madigan Hospital in Tacoma, WA. He served as Chair of the White House Task Force-Joining Forces Committee for American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine in Washington, DC from 2013 through 2016 and served as Vice Chair of the Bureau of Osteopathic Education for the American Osteopathic Association in Chicago, IL from September 2015 to February 2016.
Dr. Evans has authored several books such as Rowane MP, Evans P. Basic Musculoskeletal Skills: The 15 Minute Office Encounter. (book). American Academy of Osteopathy Publications, Indianapolis, IN. 2012, published extensively and was the PI on multiple grants.
His most recent awards include the Expert Panelist Award, Blue Ribbon Panel on Enhancing COMLEX USA, National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners in June of 2015 and the Master Educator Award from the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine a few weeks ago on September of 2016.
