Sonny Nguyen earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University Long Beach while working full time as a respiratory care practitioner. He also completed his Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California. He is licensed as an attorney in California and has earned the Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) designation. He served three terms on the Board of Directors of the Southern California Society for Healthcare Risk Management (SCAHRM) and was a member of its Education Committee. He is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and the Oregon Society for Healthcare Risk Management (OSHRM).
Mr. Nguyen has over 30 years of experience in leadership positions at nursing homes, acute care hospitals, physician practices, insurance companies, and a law firm. His extensive experience includes cardiopulmonary services, clinical risk management, claims management, educator, civil/tort litigation management, and contract management. He has presented an extensive number of risk management/patient safety educational seminars to state and county medical societies, physician groups, hospital medical staff members, medical management associations, and medical schools
