Susan McDowell
Dr. McDowell completed medical school at the Medical College of Virginia (VCU School of Medicine), and her family medicine residency at Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in Asheville in 2013. She then spent 6 years working at the Hot Springs Health Program, a look-alike federally qualified health center in Madison County, NC. She joined the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in 2019 as a faculty member focusing on the opioid crisis and as an expert educator on substance use disorders specifically tobacco use disorders and vaping.
