Virginia Johnson, DO

Dr. Johnson is a Fellow in the American Academy of Osteopathy, and is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.  She completed her osteopathic residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York City, and has been in private NMM/OMM practice in Santa Monica since 2001. She is an Adjunct Clinical Professor for Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, taught as an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow at COMP, and has presented lectures with OPSC, PIH Downey Regional Medical Center, the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, the Societe Nationale Osteopathie Francaise, and other physician's groups.  She served as an advisor on osteopathic research with The Rand Corporation, and is now President of FORCE (Foundation for Osteopathic Research and Continuous Education), a 501.c.3 research foundation dedicated to promoting osteopathic clinical research.  She is a former Treasurer of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, and a past member of the Board of Directors of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California, and she has been a California Delegate to the AOA House of Delegates. She is currently President of the Los Angeles County Osteopathic Medical Association. Her interest in "tongue ties" and myofunctional science stems from the awareness that many of the clinical problems of her patients result from longstanding functional disorders involving oral and facial regions.
