In this presentation, the speaker will review the impact of physical activity and sedentary behavior on overall health and specifically on obesity and review the physical activity guidelines for Americans. She will then review similar information regarding nutrition and review various nutrition plans and their impact on health and weight. Lastly, she will describe the limitations of exercise and nutrition for the treatment of obesity, and briefly introduce evidence-based tools to be used as an adjunct to lifestyle therapies for the successful management of obesity.
