Description

Session Objectives: 

  1. Improved patient participation and intervention ownership - with improved self-management skills at any age
  2. Compliment any medical intervention so that providers move patients into a more respectful, shared, workable partnership process, diminishing only verticle medical responsibility.
  3. Build a process of patient self awareness and improved self-managment practices as their years go by.
  • The Maine Osteopathic Association designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Cindy Asbjornsen, D.O., FAVLS, RPhS is a nationally recognized phlebologist and the primary physician at the Vein Healthcare Center in South Portland, Maine. 

Dr. Asbjornsen is a member of the Maine Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Practice, and the American Osteopathic Association. She is also an active member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society (AVLS) with leadership roles in various committees, including chairing the Sclerotherapy Education Committee.

A board-certified Family Practice physician, she completed her Family Practice residency at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. Dr. Asbjornsen is also credentialed as a Registered Phlebology Sonographer.

As part of her dedication to advancing the standard of care in venous disease and treatment, Dr. Asbjornsen has committed her practice to broadening public understanding of vein health, furthering its research, and establishing a uniquely collaborative and comprehensive approach to patient care.
